About the CoolGas Program
Who is Eligible to Participate?
Cash rebates are available to HVAC contractors or owners of gas cooling equipment in the commercial and residential market who replace existing gas units with qualifying gas air conditioning products installed in Southern California Gas Company's service territory.
How Do I Apply?
HVAC contractors must contact the Customer Service Center (CSC) at 1-877-811-8700 and use the approved application for their customers. The Program Application form identifies specific end-use customer information and details about the gas unit being replaced and the new high-efficiency unit being installed.

Once your completed application is received, the CSC will verify the project information and issue a reservation number. This reservation number is your assurance of reserved funds.
How Much Can I Receive?
Rebates are determined by the installation location in California Climate Zones within Southern California Gas Company's service territory and the unit's efficiency rating, as shown in the table below:

Product Requirements:
Size range from 5 tons to 100 tons of cooling for CEC certified and qualifying COP efficiency ratings.
How The CoolGas Program Works.
Rebates are determined by climate zone (location), estimated annual hours of use, and the COP rating of the unit to be installed. Currently, the program includes units with COP ratings of at least 0.62 and 1.07. To determine your savings, please refer to the chart above.
You may also qualify for Southern California Gas Company’s new On-Bill Financing (OBF) program which offers qualified business customers 0% financing from $5,000 to $50,000 for qualifying natural gas equipment.

The CoolGas Program is funded by California utility customers and is administered by Southern California Gas Company under the auspices of the California Public Utilities Commission though a contract awarded to Cypress, Ltd. California customers who choose to participate in this program are not obligated to purchase any additional services offered by contractors.
